#wine review: Altivo Dão DOC White 2017

Ottawa, ON

Matt’s review:

Altivo Dão DOC white 2017:  This fresh, fruity, and fragrant wine from one of the most storied wine regions in Portugal, the Dão DOC, is reminiscent of a tropical summer breeze. Very expressive with perfumed floral blossoms, sweet orchard fruit, and citrus notes, with a creamy texture that’s kept lively by its refreshing citrus finish. Sourced from high altitude vineyards in the Dão region, this blend of Encruzado, Malvasia, and Fernão Pires produces an expressive, sweet and refreshing style of wine that’s ideally suited for sipping on a patio in the summer sun or when entertaining with friends and pairing with seafood or mildly spicy Asian fare.  At $12.95 this is a buy by the case wine to enjoy all year round. Tasted April 2018. 90+ points. Matt Steeves – www.quercusvino.ca
