Matt’s review: Vale D. Maria Rufo 2018 is great value-priced red from one of the Douro’s premier producers. A blend of Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional, it shows rich and savoury dark fruits and earthy graphite minerality. Full bodied, super smooth with a fine tannin and mineral finish. Enjoy 2021-2026 with braised and grilled beef. Tasted May 2021. 90 points.
Look for the 2018 vintage it at LCBO and SAQ this year – under $20CDN.
