wine review: Santa Margherita Chianti Classico 2018

Ottawa, ON

October 2021

Matt’s review: Santa Margherita’s Chianti Classico offers a delicious, consistent benchmark Chianti experience with each vintage, showing the great style of wine they produce in the heart of Italy’s Tuscany region. Dark cherry, plum, sweet spices, dried flowers, and leather on the nose and palate. Dry with fine integrated tannins, enjoy this well balanced, refreshing, value-priced Chianti Classico with braised beef or lamb, spaghetti bolognese, Tuscan sausages with fennel, or wood-fired pizza. Decant 30+ minutes and enjoy 2021-2026. Tasted October 2021. 90 points. Matt Steeves – http://www.quercusvino.ca

Available at LCBO – $22.95
