2009 Poli Grappa Di Sassicaia Review:

Wow! Beautiful creamy texture with baked pastries, caramel, and nutty notes. So smooth and delicious you’ll wonder why you haven’t enjoyed fine Grappa sooner! A fantastic alternative to Scotch and premium Tequila, and what a great complement and finale to an evening of fine wine and food enjoyment. Sassicaia Grappa is the ultimate disgestif after a rich and delicious Italian meal. Tasted November 2016. 95 points. Matt Steeves –

Sassicaia 2012 Review:

Iconic Super Tuscan, Sassicaia from D.O.C. Bolgheri Sassicaia, has had a cult like following since 1974 when a six year old vintage of Sassicaia beat an assortment of Bordeaux in a Decanter competition. Since then fine wine lovers around the world have made place in their cellars for this incredible Italian (Bordeaux blend) wine. The 2012 shows cedar, concentrated black berry, tea leaves, raspberry, and balsamic notes. Meaty texture with layers of dark fruit, mouth coating fine tannins, it’s dry with more black tea, balsamic notes, and cedar on the palate. A very well structured and perfectly balanced Super Tuscan! Enjoy 2018-2038+. Tasted November 2015. 95+ points. Matt Steeves –

Sassicaia 2013 review:

Always a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, Sassicaia has a long enjoyed a cult-like following as it’s regarded as one of the world’s greatest Cabernet Sauvignon blends outside of Bordeaux’s left-bank 1er Crus. The 2013 is an exceptional one showing the greatness that can be achieved from this iconic winery. Dark fruit, dried fruit, balsamic, cedar, and sweet spice on the nose and palate. Full flavoured with delicate mouth coating tannins and refreshing acidity providing an ideal texture for this prized Super Tuscan. The finish is long with more dried fruit, balsamic and cedar notes. Certainly a wine for the ages. Tasted November 2016. 95 points. Matt Steeves –
