Terra Terrae Organic Cava – $15.95

Matt’s review: Cava continues to be a favourite sparking wine for terraterrae-1its great value, consumer and food friendliness, and quality. Produced using the same methods as Champange, Cava differs slightly in that it’s always been produced with the these three grapes: Macabeo, Xarel-lo, and Parellada. What sets Terra Terrae Brut apart from many others is that this is an organic Cava that benefits from organically farmed grapes which is an increasingly popular but hard to find feature in many wines, especially at this price point. Terra Terrae shows fresh golden delicious apple, almond croissant, and lemon tart on the nose. The palate is crisp, clean, and refreshing with a nice blend of sweet orchard fruit and texture from the fine bubbles. A great sparkling wine for hosting over the holiday season and would be a great base for sparkling wine cocktails on New Year’s Eve.
