September 2017

Matt’s review: A blend of 85% Sangiovese, 5% Merlot, 5% Canaiolo, and 5% Colorino from the Colli Senesi subregion of Chianti. Like many of the world’s fine wines, Palagetto’s Chianti is hand harvested, fermented in concrete tanks, and aged in large oak barrels. The result is a very fragrant and complex aromatic bouquet with cherries, plum, leather, tobacco, mocha, and a touch of earth. The palate is extra dry with delicate tannins, fresh acidity, and a rustic profile that would be terrific to complement charcoal grilled Bistecca alla Fiorentina served with lemon wedges and cannellini beans. Enjoy over the next few years. Tasted September 2017. 88 points. Good value! Matt Steeves – http://www.quercusvino.ca
