wine review: Black Sage Vineyard Shiraz 2016

Ottawa, ON

March 2020

Matt’s review:

Sourced from the Southern Okanagan Valley, where expressive Shiraz flourishes in the hot Okanagan sun, Black Sage Vineyard Shiraz is a great example of a big and bold Okanagan red. The aromas showcase its namesake, with loads of fresh Black Sage, Damson plum, blackberry, currant, charcoal and sous bois. The palate shows spicy dark fruits, with a soft and plush texture with delicate fine tannins making this wine ready to enjoy now and a great pairing with braised dishes, and BBQ fare.  Enjoy 2020-2025. Tasted March 2020. 90 points. Matt Steeves – http://www.quercusvino.ca
