Matt’s review:
Jackson-Triggs’ inaugural vintage (2016) of their Grand Reserve Pinot Grigio shows that they’ve got a great thing going with this premium Ontario white wine. An intriguing colour of faint copper with a pink hue immediately catches the eye, followed by a gorgeous and very fragrant bouquet of sweet stone fruit, floral blossoms, and wildflower honey on the nose. The palate is crisp and refreshing, with noticeable weight and a slight creaminess that shows up on the mid-palate soon to be carried away by a textured citrus fruit finish. A great effort from Jackson-Triggs and certainly will be ideal with creamy seafood dishes, Autumn harvest meals, or step it up a notch and enjoy with duck breast with a pomegranate-citrus glaze. Tasted October 2017. 88-89 points. Matt Steeves – http://www.quercusvino.ca
