wine review: Winemaker’s Cut Rosé 2018

July 2019

Ottawa, ON

Matt’s review:

This small production (220 cases) single vineyard Rosé from Winemaker’s Cut estate vineyard in Oliver, BC, has the most elegant colour that sparkles intensely in the sun like a fancy pink diamond.   A blend of 70% Cabernet Franc and 30% Syrah, from the highest elevation parcels of the vineyard, the result is a very clean, crisp, ripe, and expressive wine that showcases equally the complexity and friendliness of this patio-perfect wine.  Packed full of ripe summer field and orchard fruits, and fragrant blossoms, it’s a very expressive wine that is ideally suited for enjoying on a patio and equally suited for food pairings, such as grilled fish, charcuterie, and roasted poultry, year round.  Tasted July 2019. 92 points.
