September 2019:
Matt’s review: A fantastic expression of Napa fruit, from Mount Veeder Winery, situated in the Mayacamas mountain range in the heart of the finest winemaking regions in California, smack dab between Sonoma and Napa. A blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, and 2% Malbec, it’s both powerful and expressive, showing ripe black berries, raspberry, cherry, figs, mocha, spice, and scorched earth. This impressive, and modestly priced, Napa Cab displays a beautiful integration of fruit, spice, and smooth tannins producing an approachable and very well structured wine that’s ready to enjoy now and will benefit from a decade of cellaring. A great wine to enjoy with grilled steaks, and would make a wonderful gift this holiday season. Tasted September 2019. 93 points. Matt Steeves – http://www.quercusvino.ca
