Matt’s review: Burrowing Owl’s 2019 Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from their Keremeos vineyard in the Similkameen Valley. A blend of 91% Sauvignon Blanc and 9% Semillon, where a third was barrel fermented to provide additional weight and textural complexity. The nose shows sweet passionfruit, gooseberry, lemongrass, lime zest, and flinty minerality. The palate is crisp with delicious exotic fruit, herbs, and a creamy chalky-mineral finish. Very expressive and complex flavour and texture, with exceptional balance. Highly recommend enjoying this fine Sauvignon Blanc with grilled halibut with cilantro garlic butter or fish tacos with lime-cilantro crema. Tasted March 2021. 92 points.
