Matt’s review: Sibona Distillery’s Madeira barrel-aged Reserve Grappa is a beautiful amber colour thanks to the time it spent in sweet Madeira barrels picking up not only colour but flavour and subtle texture complexity too.


The nose shows spicy poached pear, lychee, candied orange peel, with a lovely Ambroisal fragrance.

The palate is creamy, sweet, and spicy with a repeat of the aromas leading to a long spicy finish. Ideal served after a fine Italian meal or alongside (on drizzled on top) creamy desserts and pastries. Two great options, a lychee, mango, and coconut terrine, or lychee and cream cake. A beautiful barrel-aged reserve Grappa! Highly recommended. 93 points. Matt Steeves –
