Matt’s review: Icellars 2016 Pinot Noir, 150 cases total production from the Icel (estate) Vineyard in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake. Inviting sweet spice box aromas with fresh herbs, plum, and cherry notes showing the complexity of the wine from this special vineyard that has been producing nothing short of exceptional wines with each vintage. The palate shows spicy plum, dark cherry, with soft fine tannins that coat the palate while the refreshing acidity provides that impeccable structure to this beautifully balanced Pinot. Terrific on its own, it’s also well suited to complement a wide range of dishes from grilled lamb, pork, or Atlantic salmon with fresh dill. Drink 2018-2024. Tasted October 2018. 92 points.
